Families

Your family is incredibly important

For children, their family’s love, support, and care play a huge part in helping them develop a sense of themselves, their worth, and how to interact with the world.

In today’s busy culture, it can be hard to know how or even when to find time for interaction and growth as a family unit.

If you didn’t grow up with a family that felt loving, supportive, and safe, it can be difficult to imagine how to create that with your family now.

With different personalities, interests, ages, and schedules, family time can often look like arguing and conflict, or parent as taxi driver. Frequently these days, family members exist with a focus on phones, tablets, or video game consoles. You might all be sharing a space, but you’re not experiencing the “togetherness” and connection you desire for your family.

Maybe you have specific concerns

The kids fight constantly. They are rude and disrespectful to each other and can’t play together for five minutes without major issues.

You’re struggling to know how to balance and meet the needs of more than one child at a time.

Your spouse or partner doesn’t know how to interact or play with the children. It’s rare for them to spend time together; and, even when they do, things deteriorate quickly.

You grew up in a less-than-ideal family system, and you don’t feel confident in knowing how to create a supportive and loving family.

One of your children is constantly angry, and you’re walking on eggshells trying not to cause another explosion.

Your oldest children are starting to withdraw. They are just not as happy anymore, and it seems like they’re always off on their own, choosing not to participate in family life.

If you have concerns for your family, there is help available

In family therapy, parents and children play and interact together in a supportive, safe, and fun environment – and begin to make little changes that can have a big impact.

Children get the attention, love, and boundaries they need from their parents.

Parents receive guidance, encouragement, and the relationship with their children that they desire.

Family therapy can help

Parents and children will begin to understand family patterns and values as they establish family goals and roles.

They will learn new healthy patterns of communicating and interacting and start to truly enjoy each other’s company.
