What’s in a word?

Parenting is a word that can conjure up a hundred thoughts and even more emotions. And let’s be perfectly honest here, the emotions of parenting are far from all positive.

Whether you feel like an exceptional, adequate, or barely-making-it parent, you’re welcome here

There are many factors that influence parenting. These can include personalities, stress, influence of our own parents, or lack of parents.

As we grew up, there were countless aspects of our lives that had an impact on the way we parent our children.

It’s hard to see our own blind spots or patterns of repeating thoughts or behaviors, particularly when it comes to how we engage with our kids.

Guilt, regret, and parenting often seem to go hand in hand

I want to help equip and empower you, as much as is humanly possible, to parent without the guilt.

“You can’t go back and make a new start, but you can start right now and make a brand new ending.” James R. Sherman, Ph.D.

What’s the answer?

It is crucial for parents to be supported in their parenting. Many parents need someone to help them understand their parenting style and why they’re parenting the way they are.

Sometimes improvement in parenting requires new insights, strategies, and other tweaks.

The most important piece…

Supportive and caring parents (biological, foster, adoptive, friends or relatives who have stepped into a parenting role) are of vital importance throughout the lifespan of a developing child.

“Strong, caring and loving relationships can… at least partially shield children from the impact of negative experiences and can be mutually healing.” ~Dr. Nick Kowalenko
